Tappahannock man killed in crash on bridge 

On Tuesday, February 18, at 8:42 a.m., the Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on the eastbound side of Route 33 on the Lord Delaware Bridge in King and Queen County with a confirmed fatality. 

The investigation reveals that a 2002 Ford Ranger driven by Barren B. Holmes, 66, of Tappahannock, was traveling westbound Route 33 in the far right lane when he veered across all lanes of travel striking a 2015 Mack tractor trailer heading eastbound head on.  

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. Mr. Holmes succumbed to his injuries and died…
