
Urbanna has been awarded a $450,000 federal grant, with no local match required, for preliminary engineering, design, and environmental review activities necessary to repair or replace the bridge serving the Urbanna Town Marina.
However, the grant specifically states that the town must wait for a state date to be established by the funding agency in order to receive funds, Town Administrator Ted Costin told council at its April 23 meeting.
Any money spent by the town before the “start date” would not be reimbursed, said Mayor.
