
If things work out, Urbanna could get more federal dollars to build a new bridge at the Urbanna Town Marina.
On Aug. 20, U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, R-Montross, who represents Virginia’s First Congressional District, highlighted, via a press release, the inclusion of his $4.4 million funding request for the new Urbanna Marina Bridge through Community Project Funding in the Fiscal Year 2027 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. This measure has been approved by the House Appropriations Committee and awaits passage on the House Floor.
During the August district work period, Rep. Wittman traveled across the district to meet with local leaders and discuss his efforts in Washington to secure federal investments for Virginia’s First District.
