Corbin Hall farm wins Clean Water Farm and Grand Basin award

Corbin Hall Farm in Water View — a pillar of environmental and historical farming stewardship — received the Clean Water Farm/Bay Friendly Award for 2025 for the Rappahannock River Basin and the Tidewater Soil, Water, and Conservation District. This award was presented recently to farms in 10 districts in the state and is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Corbin Hall Farm encompasses more than 2,000 acres, which are comprised of approximately 1,500 acres of cropland, 250 acres of pasture, and 293 acres of woodlands, marshlands, ponds and homesites. The parcel is surrounded by water on three sides, with the Rappahannock River to the north, LaGrange Creek to the south, and Weeks Creek to the west. Corbin Hall Farm has seven miles of shoreline in total.

Outreach

Corbin Hall Farm annually hosts school groups from Middlesex County Public Schools, Ware Academy, and Christchurch School for various on-the-farm agricultural education opportunities. They hosted Middlesex County Future Farmers of America (FFA) groups dating back to the 60s…
