Authorities seek the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a pickup truck that crashed into a house near Water View last week, reported Sgt. J. Teagle of the Virginia State Police’s Area 33 office in Gloucester.
The investigation indicates a white Dodge Ram pickup was traveling west on Water View Road (Route 640) and lost control where the road turns sharply to the right. The driver did not negotiate the right turn, continued straight and slammed into the residence located at 1348 Water View Road. The home was apparently occupied at the time, but there were no reports of anyone being injured.
The driver reportedly left the scene and is a fugitive as of this week.
The crash occurred at 8:52 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at the intersection of Water View Road and Burchs Mill Road.
The investigation is still ongoing and the Virginia State Police are asking for help in locating the driver. “Should the public have any information regarding this crash on the identity of the driver, please contact the Virginia State Police — Area 33 Office at 804-693-6808,” said Sgt. Teagle. “They can speak to Trooper M.S. Ward as he is the investigating officer.”
A witness at the scene of the crash reportedly said the residents were in the home when it was hit. No injuries were reported.
A person who lives in the area said the house has been hit by vehicles at least three other times.
