‘A Taste of Art’ opens at library in Deltaville

The Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) system’s latest art exhibit, “A Taste of Art,” featuring paintings by Judy Bumgardner, opens this month at MCPL’s Deltaville branch. The public is invited to a 4-6 p.m. reception on Monday, April 13. Light refreshments will be served and the artist will be on hand to discuss the work.

A veteran artist with decades of experience, Judy Bumgardner’s watercolor and gouache paintings draw inspiration from food and color. She began her career creating polychrome sculpture from found materials, studying at the Art Institute of Chicago and then Virginia Commonwealth University, then known as Richmond Professional Institute.

She took up painting while traveling with her late husband…
