Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (UUFR), a church in White Stone, is presenting a second talk in its new series exploring why Eastern and Western religions differ in conceptions of the divine. The talk is set for 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 12, at UUFR at 366 James Wharf Road. Delivering the talk will be Edward Correia.
Western religions believe in a personal God, who is aware of us and has power over the universe. Eastern religions tend to conceive of God in a more spiritual, impersonal way. Some Buddhists do not believe in a supreme deity at all.
A third talk in the series is set for 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 17, at UUFR. It will investigate how and why Eastern and Western religions define different religious goals…
