UUFR supports four scholars — including one from D’ville

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock, a church in White Stone, recently announced its 2025 Servetus Endowment Scholarships for area public high schools.

The four recipients were invited to meet the Servetus Fund trustees and each other at a luncheon at the Kilmarnock Inn on June 7.

All of them intend to move into the healthcare field. They include:

  • Ethan Walker of Deltaville in Middlesex County. He will enroll at Virginia Tech to study public health.
  • Brooklynn King of Kilmarnock and Lancaster County. She will study nursing at Rappahannock Community College.
  • Itzel Santamaria of Heathsville in Northumberland County. She will enroll at the University of Virginia to study nursing.
  • Hannah Stillwaggon of Mathews in Mathews County. She will study pre-med at Old Dominion University.

The Servetus scholarship program supports students in the first year, and continues to support them as they move through their college years. The first-year amount that each receives is $4,000.

The scholars’ responsibility is to keep the Servetus trustees informed semi-annually, as they progress through their education goals. Invariably, challenges appear along the way, and the Servetus Foundation members hope to help with those challenges when they can.
