At its July 9 meeting, the town council voted to approve a contract with Local Solutions, local government consultants, to assist the town with selection of a town administrator and provide general local government management and zoning support. The firm is located in West Point.
In a June 25 letter to Urbanna Mayor Robbie Wilson, Local Solution’s John Edwards Jr. states he will “provide management and consulting services to the Town of Urbanna for up to 20 hours per week for a duration of 12 weeks.”
The fee is $2,000 a week for a total of $24,000. This money will come from funds budgeted for the departed part-time town administrator’s salary and benefits, which is more than $120,000 annually…
