
Strong pitching, timely offense, and error-free defense were the key to a 9-0 Deltaville Deltas victory over the Richmond Trash Pandas on Sunday afternoon in Richmond.
Nathan Vaughan got the Deltas on the board in the third inning with an RBI single, which scored Travis Crump, giving Deltaville a 1-0 lead. The tightly contested matchup continued into the sixth, when Jett Bristow lined a double into the gap to score Jacob Houston and Colton Smith. Benny Walker drove in Bristow two batters later, and the Deltas held a 4-0 lead.
Two more runs driven in by Walker in the eighth and a three-run ninth allowed the Deltas to pull away late in the game…
