The Urbanna Cup regatta featured races between owners of these 18-foot 1934 design Hampton One sailing craft. The annual event is sponsored by longtime Hampton One sailor Latane Montague, owner of a marina on Urbanna Creek.
The races have been a part of the Urbanna maritime history for many years as several national Hampton One championship races have been conducted on the creek going back to 1948, when the Urbanna Yacht Club hosted the third annual national championships.
