‘Steamboats on the Chesapeake’ now online

Those who missed local screenings of “Steamboats on the Chesapeake” now have a chance. The one-hour documentary can be streamed at no charge on the Northern Neck History Channel, on YouTube.

The film, produced as a way to benefit the Kilmarnock Museum, Steamboat Era Museum and Shore History on the Eastern Shore, had a total of nine showings in December, January and February at Compass Cinema Six in Irvington and at the Roseland Theater in Onancock.

The documentary follows the development of the Chesapeake steamboat industry, starting in 1813 and lasting until 1962…
