State qualifiers compete Friday on JMU track

The Middlesex High School girls track team finished third as a team in the Region 1A track meet on Thursday, May 29, at Charles City High School.

Rappahannock High School (of Warsaw) won the meet with 84 points; Westmoreland, second, 82.5; Middlesex, third, 67; Lancaster, fourth 61; Northampton, fifth, 60; Mathews, sixth, 57; West Point, sixth, 57; King & Queen Central, eighth, 46; Northumberland, ninth, 43.5; Charles City, 10th, 32; Essex, 11th, 25; and 12th, Chincoteague, 9 points.

The Lady Chargers were paced by Karadee Anderson, who was a double winner with wins in the shot put (34’ 11.5”) and discus (95’) and Iyana Jenkins, second, 300 meters (47.46); third, 100 meter hurdles (16.93) and fourth, pole vault (5’ 6”).
