Thirty-two teams competed in the third annual Rescue Regatta, which is a fundraiser for the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad. “The wind was out of the north, so the whole race the sailors were sailing ‘a reach,’” said Hartfield resident Bob Waldrop, who captured this image.
The boat “Afterthought,” skippered by Craig Wright of Hartfield, was the overall winner.
The squad and its auxiliary will install their officers at their annual banquet, which is set for 6 p.m. today, Thursday, July 31, at the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad building, 17684 General Puller Highway, Deltaville.
