Public invited to sound off on noise ordinance

A public hearing will be offered in April for citizens to voice opinions on repealing the county’s current noise control ordinance and considering a new one, described as being more enforceable.

The revised noise ordinance was spearheaded by Pinetop District (Deltaville) Supervisor Randy Crittenden, who says a member of his family experienced uncontrollable noise issues at their home in Deltaville without enough strength in the county’s current ordinance to allow enforcement.

The proposed ordinance has been developed by County Attorney Heather Lewis and was brought before the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (MCBS) at the board’s Feb. 3 meeting…
