Two highway roundabouts are planned for Twiggs Ferry Road (Route 3) about three miles from each other.
One roundabout, fully funded for $6.7 million, will be near Hartfield at the intersection of Twiggs Ferry Road (Route 3) and Stampers Bay Road (Route 630), which is used by those going to or from Deltaville. The intersection is just north of Doc Jones Used Auto Parts.
The other roundabout will be in Mathews County at the intersection of Twiggs Ferry Road and Buckley Hall Road (Route 198) and will cost $7.8 million. This intersection is where the Fas Mart is located and is the primary route for those traveling to and from Mathews and Middlesex counties. There is considerable left turn traffic with motorists turning onto Twiggs Ferry Road.
