The Middlesex varsity Lady Charger basketball team improved to 7-5 with recent wins over Chincoteague and Lancaster; but they lost a close contest at King William, a double A school.
On Jan. 20, the Lady Chargers defeated Chincoteague 48-13. The Lady Chargers only had a 7-4 lead after the first quarter and then kept control of the whole game.
King William 59, Middlesex 55
On Jan. 22, the Middlesex Varsity Lady Chargers lost to visiting King William 59-55. The Lady Chargers trailed by 11 after the first quarter. They fought very hard the whole game, but came up short at the end.
Middlesex 44, Lancaster 27
On Jan. 23, the Middlesex Varsity Lady Chargers beat visiting Lancaster 44-27 improving their record to 7-5. The Lady Chargers led 22-13 at halftime and held on for a convincing win.
The varsity and junior varsity Lady Chargers were scheduled to host Rappahannock of Warsaw on Monday and play at Mathews on Tuesday…
