Middlesex baseball squad falls to Lancaster in region semifinal

Chargers finish 10-9, 5-2 with 8-2 loss to LHS

The Middlesex High School (MHS) baseball team (10-9, 5-2) completed a successful season Tuesday, June 2, as the Chargers lost to Lancaster High School, 8-2, in the semifinals of the Region 1A baseball tournament.

The Chargers had six hits in the game and Lancaster had eight. The difference in the outcome of the game was five errors from the Chargers defense.

The game was tied, 1-1, through four innings when the Red Devils exploded for five runs in the fifth inning. Lancaster scored two more runs in the sixth and Middlesex scored a run in the seventh.

Nathan Rutkowski and Thomas Foster had two hits each and Rutkowski contributed an RBI. Peyton Calhoun and Aiden Stith had a hit each…
