The Middlesex High School (MHS) boys and girls track teams finished off their seasons at the Virginia 1A state track and field meet Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, on the James Madison University (JMU) track in Harrisonburg with the boys finishing ninth and the girls finishing 13th as a team.

The boys team was paced by Davonte Griffin, who took second place in the high jump (6’ 4”) and second in triple jump (44’ 7.5”). The winning high jump was 6’ 6” by Gideon Mien of Auburn High School and winning triple jump was Mark Tankard of Northampton High School.

The Middlesex girls finished 13th as a team with 21 team points. The Lady Chargers were paced by thrower, senior Karadee Anderson, who finished second (8 points) in the shot put (35’ 8”). The winning throw was 36’ 5” by Jayla Augustin of Cumberland…
