The Middlesex County Economic Development Authority (EDA) will apply for a “GO Virginia” planning grant for a proposed marine industrial park and marine training facility of Project Access next to Norview Marina in Deltaville, said John Anzivino, EDA chairman.
Obtaining this grant is important since “planning work determines whether a future GO Virginia investment is feasible,” states a memo from Anzivino to the EDA board. The planning will “determine industry demand to validate any future GO Virginia implementation grants.” GO Virginia will announce grant awards this summer.
“The intent is to build a marine business and training facility patterned after those in North Carolina to offer both business opportunities and training opportunities in the marine trades through Rappahannock Community College and local vocational training programs,” Anzivino explained…
