The Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) system will host a presentation, “An Introduction to Ducks Unlimited,” on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10:30 a.m. at MCPL’s Urbanna branch. The talk will address Ducks Unlimited’s mission and history, their activities on both a local and national level, and ways for the community to get involved. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
Ducks Unlimited (DU), according to its mission statement, “conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl.” Locally, their projects include restoring many tracts of wetlands around the Chesapeake Bay, including Dragon Run and, further afield, extended portions of the Great Dismal Swamp.
