Piankatank River Golf Club marks 30th anniversary

The Piankatank River Golf Club turned 30 years old this year and an anniversary tournament, celebration and dinner were conducted at the golf course in Hartfield.

Virginia General Assembly Del. Keith Hodges, R-Urbanna, praised the vision and dedication of brothers, Johnny and E.G. Fleet, who opened the business in 1996.

“There were a lot of people back then who thought you were crazy to put a golf course in Middlesex County,” said Hodges. “You had a vision and will to make it work and what a contribution the golf course has been to the entire region. Who would have thought that it could grow into the premiere golf course that it is,” said Hodges¬…
