Christchurch defeats Isle of Wight 20-17 in first football win of season

The Christchurch School (CCS) football program restart has been a chore. With just four members returning from the 2019 team, describing this season as an “uphill battle” is an understatement.

Friday night’s victory over VISAA No. 4 ranked Isle of Wight Academy proved to be a defining statement. The Seahorses will be back.

The 20-17, come-from-behind victory knocked the Chargers out of the playoff race. Moreover, the CCS players solidified their place in the school’s history by successfully reestablishing the football program after almost two years off the field.

The Seahorses are back on track, but two more tough games lie ahead. They travel to Norfolk Christian School Friday night, and finish at home on Thursday, Nov. 4…
