Wishing their fellow grads a bright future filled with high-flying dreams, it is clear that at least one member of the fictional Springfield High’s Class of ’58 may have skipped a few too many English classes. Maegan Carbino, left, and Amber Wood portray two members of the song leader group in “The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps and Gowns,” the musical opening June 18 at White Stone’s Lancaster Players Playhouse. The Lancaster Players welcomes back the Marvelous Wonderettes in “Caps and Gowns,” a high-energy musical that dances from a 1958 high school graduation to a wedding a decade later. The show opens June 18 for three weekends of performances.

Directed by Robin Blake, with Mary Beran as music director, the production celebrates the timeless hits of the 50s and 60s that shaped a generation and still shine today. The off-Broadway musical review was written and created by Roger Bean, with vocal and musical arrangements by Michael Borth.

Tickets are $30 and may be purchased through The Lancaster Players website at lancasterplayers.org or by calling 804-435-3776. Groups of 15 or more receive a 10% discount when tickets are purchased together.
