The car featured by the Memory Lane Car Club for this year’s Wings, Wheels & Keels has a special significance — it was built in 1941, the same year Hummel Field airport opened.
On Saturday, the 1941 Chevrolet of Lee and Sonia Waybright of Reedville will be among the dozens of classic cars and vehicles on display at the event, along with aircraft and unusual boats at Hummel Field airport in Topping. Activities begin at 9 a.m. and last until 4 p.m.
The Waybright’s Chevrolet is officially known as a “Master De Luxe Business Coupe,” a two-door with no back seat. It was deleted to give more room for sales samples of traveling salesmen.
