A routine, scheduled inspection of the Robert O. Norris Jr. Bridge begins next week.
Starting Monday, Sept. 28, Route 3 travelers can expect brief daytime delays crossing the bridge over the Rappahannock River between Greys Point and White Stone throughout the month of October.
Between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on weekdays, through Friday, Oct. 30, a portion of the bridge will be reduced to a single travel lane. Automated flagging devices will direct traffic through the work zone. Flagging crew members operate the devices, which can be rapidly adjusted to respond to congestion or incidents on the bridge.
