Filmmakers use Urbanna Town Marina to
depict first armed conflict of Revolution

The Urbanna Town Marina, Urbanna Creek and the colonial replica sailing ship Luna, owned by the Colonial Seaport Foundation in Deltaville, were the scene and vessel used last week in the filming of a documentary on The Battle of Hampton.

The filming was done by Seltzer Film & Video and is part of Hampton’s 250th celebration of the founding of America. The film is sponsored by the Hampton History Museum and the City of Hampton.

On the dock in Urbanna, a spokesperson for the City of Hampton expressed thanks for the availability of the town marina and the creek. “We do not have anywhere in Hampton like this to film this movie,” she said. “This is a wonderful and beautiful setting for the film.”

The Luna was docked at Urbanna Marina from Monday to Wednesday, May 11 through 13.
