Tony Robusto of Urbanna, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who also served during the Korean War, turned 100 on Oct. 24, 2025.

Friends and family surprised him with a ride in Larry Hayne’s 1955 Chevy convertible as part of a birthday party at the Wooden Pickle restaurant. Tony wrote in his journal “100th birthday WOW, a very good day.”

Tony’s neighbors, Amy and Andy Anderson, put together the surprise ride. “Tony has been our neighbor about 15 years and we have thoroughly enjoyed having him next door to us,” said Amy. “Tony always has something to say that tickles my funny bone.”

His birthday cake was decorated with the words, “It took me 100 years to look this good.”
