A mix-up in paperwork has negated the public hearing on short-term rentals and amendments to the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act that the Urbanna Planning Commission conducted on Aug. 25.
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. the Urbanna planners will conduct another public hearing on these subjects. The meeting and public hearing will be offered electronically via Go-To-Meeting, which can be accessed by the public on a phone or computer.
The planners are proposing an amendment would add short-term rentals as a permitted use “by right” in R-1 Low Density Residential Districts and the B-2 Special Waterfront Mixed Use Districts.
Currently, the town code does not permit short-term rentals in residential districts. However…
