
Have you ever wondered why the Apostle Paul told Timothy, in his letter to him, “I have fought the good fight …”? It is because Paul compared his life, as a follower of Jesus, to that of a soldier in battle.
Paul knew that there were spiritual enemies opposing us throughout our lives. Still, Paul was persistent in telling the people, to whom he wrote, that Jesus has not left us defenseless, and that the armor of God is provided to us for our protection.
The Bible’s Genesis 3:7 indicates that as soon as man’s first sin was committed, only then did Adam and Eve realize that they were naked. Sin had robbed them of their armor and left them defenseless. In essence, man had opened the gates, allowed the devil to walk right in, and once inside, the devil proclaimed himself king, and ushered in a whole procession of deadly sins; without ever even drawing a sword.
This is exactly the condition of every son and daughter of Adam. Satan found us naked and he made us his slave, until, Jesus reclaimed us…
