Richard L. Chenery III, of Glen Allen, died Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Lucy Tyler Thrift Chenery; and his sister, Mary Chenery Gregory. He is survived by his brother, James Hollis Chenery II; his sister, Elizabeth Wells Chenery; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He attended Hampden-Sydney College and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 29 years of service.
In keeping with his wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, is assisting the family.
