Nearly 100 cyclists representing the Police Unity Tour bound for Washington, D.C., arrived in Urbanna on Sunday to recognize Middlesex County Chief Deputy Robert Talmadge Hicks, who ran off the Urbanna bridge and drowned on May 20, 1984.
The group annually stops at the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department station in Urbanna, where the fire department auxiliary provides snacks, homemade brownies, water and soft drinks for the group.
