Even competing against some larger schools,
Middlesex’s
girls and boys swim teams each excel

“What a season!” This is how Middlesex High School (MHS) Swim Team Coach Shannon Sears summed up the season. And, there is much more to the story.

MHS, a Class One school due to the small size of its small student population, competed against some larger Class Two schools in the Virginia High School League (VHSL) State tournament on Feb. 18 at Swim RVA in Richmond.

The Charger girls and boys teams competed against 38 teams. The Charger boys finished in eighth place, while the Lady Charger girls team finished in 21st place.

MHS had 12 swimmers qualify for the VHSL State swim meet…
