The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger football team (1-1) defeated Windsor High School (0-3) at “The Castle,” the Dukes homefield, Friday, Sept. 11, by a score of 28-6.
The Chargers offense was paced by Davonte Griffin, who scored all of MHS’s four touchdowns on break away runs. MHS won the game on the ground — the team had a total of 225 yards rushing and registered just two total yards passing. Griffin had 126 yards of the total 225 yardage in touchdown runs.
Middlesex’s defense was rock solid except when the Dukes scored in the third quarter on a seven-yard run. MHS junior Colby Conti paced the Charger defense with a pass interception to stall a Duke’s drive and he recovered a fumble in the game.
