Middlesex hoop girls fall in region semifinal

The Middlesex High School (MHS) varsity girls basketball team’s season came to an end on Feb. 27 with a 53-32 loss at Rappahannock of Warsaw in the semifinals of the Region 1A tournament.

Middlesex 38,
Northumberland 22

In the quarterfinals, the Lady Chargers advanced by defeating visiting Northumberland’s Indian girls 39-22 on Feb. 24. The Lady Chargers led 13-4 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Northumberland picked up its scoring, but trailed at the end of three quarters, 19-9. The Lady Chargers held them and went on to win 39-22.

Leading the way for the Lady Chargers was Grace Reza with 18 points. 

The MHS girls basketball team finishes with an 11-7 overall win-loss record…
