MHS volleyball team piles up district wins

The Middlesex High School varsity volleyball team remains undefeated in Tidewater District competition with recent victories over Northumberland, 2A King William, and West Point.

On Sept. 29, the host Lady Chargers defeated Northumberland 25-19, 25-17 and 25-16.

Kinsley Horn led Lady Charger kills with 13. Rori Stuart and Payton Baker each had seven kills.

Also for Middlesex, Annie Bray had four kills and Hannah Koehler had three kills.

Carly Jessie led the Lady Charger defense with 13 digs, while Karadee Anderson had 11 digs.

On Sept. 30, visiting Middlesex defeated King William, 2A school, 25-15, 25-18 and 25-20.

Again, Kinsley Horn led with nine kills. Annie Bray had six kills. Hannah Koehler and Payton Baker each had four kills.

Carly Jessie led the defense with 16 digs. Karadee Anderson had 14 digs. Kinsley Horn and Hannah Lambert each had 13 digs.

On Oct. 2 Middlesex defeated host West Point 25-19, 25-21, and 25-20.

The varsity is scheduled to host Carver Academy at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 9.
