The Middlesex High School girls basketball team started the new year with a 49-26 win over Charles City, bringing its record to three wins and four losses on Jan. 7.
The Lady Chargers started off slow in the first quarter trailing 6-5, but then outscored Charles City 18-10 in the second quarter and pulled away in the second half for the win.
The Lady Chargers are scheduled to play at King William on Friday, Jan. 16. The varsity only will host Carver on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 6:30 p.m. and King and Queen Central on Friday, Jan. 23, at 6:15 p.m.
