Middlesex thwarts multiple drives, but in the end succumbs to Red Devils, 81-30
by Larry Chowning –
The Middlesex High School (MHS) varsity basketball team ran into some sharpshooting Red Devils Wednesday, Nov. 30, as Lancaster crushed the Chargers, 81-30, behind consistent 3-point shooting from the corners.
The Chargers held their own on the boards and were able to contain numerous strong Red Devil drives to the basket but steady 3-point shooting kept the Chargers from being competitive.
The Red Devils scored 33 of their 81 points beyond the 3-point line and seven of those came in the first quarter.
The Chargers traveled to Northumberland to take on the Indians Tuesday, Dec. 6. MHS will travel to King William on Friday, Dec. 9, to play the Cavaliers. Varsity tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
