Karen Lux

LuxKaren Lux, love of my life and my very, very, very special best friend, died on the summer solstice – Sunday,  June 21, 2026 – at the young age of 60.

She enjoyed many life moments brimming with happiness, comfort, loved ones, favorite things and beautiful places — hygge [hoo ga] in Danish – none more than her time spent laughing and playing with her children, grandchildren and extended family. Very proud of her Danish heritage.

She loved both her river and country homes, holidays on OBX and Blue Ridge and was always excited to try something different. She would spend hours running on a treadmill, giggling at sitcoms.

Karen was dedicated to her career in finance with the Commonwealth of Virginia, where she had many friends and colleagues. With more than 35 years of service and her CPA, she accumulated and shared an extensive knowledge of workflow processes, especially with the technical aspects of managing educational grants to localities.

Her most remarkable inner strength, her love, her laughter, her patience and her courage, have been a boundless source of inspiration and will always be with us.

A celebration of Karen’s life will be conducted at a later date. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have offered kindness and support during this time.

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda, is assisting the family. Please check our website for updated information for the celebration of Karen’s life.
