Cynthia Foor Callis, 62, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026 after a stubborn fight against cancer.
Cindy was born in South Williamsport, Pa., but came to Gloucester with her family at the age of 2.
She was a graduate of Gloucester High School and Randolph Macon College. After some time in the banking trade, Cindy found her true calling and love as an emergency medical technician and cardiac technician with Central Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad. From there she became a 911 dispatcher with the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, later relocating to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, where she served for 23 years. Cindy worked hard to achieve her most recent promotion to communications supervisor in 2024. In December 2025 she was so honored to be named Supervisor of the Year in the sheriff’s office.
