Jeanne Sahr, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, in Deltaville.
Born on September 6, 1955, in Buffalo, N.Y., Jeanne lived a life full of love, laughter, and generosity.
A self-employed entrepreneur in canvas upholstery, Jeanne was passionate about her work and cherished the independence it provided. She held a high school diploma and worked 20 years in the canvas upholstery business.
Jeanne loved being near the water, fishing, following the Buffalo Bills, traveling, listening to music, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. Her warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone she met.
Jeanne was married to Doug Sahr for 20 years and to John Dwyer for 25 years. She is survived by her husband, John Dwyer; her children, Melissa Kaus and Dan Sahr; and her grandchildren, Hannah Kaus, Damon Kaus, and Giuliona Betts. She also leaves behind her siblings, Johnny Ostertag, Mark Ostertag, Nancy Ostertag, Robin Ostertag, Mary Crowley, Jacque Waggoner, Susie Ostertag, and Bettie Ostertag-Killian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jean Ostertag; and her sister, Patsy Gleisle.
A celebration of life in honor of Jeanne Sahr is planned for 11 a.m. Sept. 6 at The Warehouse, 9936 Simmonds Road, Corfu, NY 14005. For information, please contact Dan Sahr at 716-54 6459.
Jeanne’s spirit will be remembered for her unconditional love, generosity, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
