James E. Bolls of Urbanna died on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025.
Jim was born in Hope, Ark. on Jan. 22, 1939, and graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1963.
He started his career with Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti, Mich., and later worked in mid- and senior-level manufacturing management positions. He was a certified quality engineer. He retired in 2001 as vice president of Quality Assurance and Safety for Zeiss Optical in Chesterfield. He was a founding member of Piankatank River Golf Club in Hartfield, and a longtime member and officer of his townhouse association board of directors.
Survivors include his wife Susan of 68 years; son, William and his wife Sue of
Midlothian; granddaughter, Madison Bolls and her husband Nick Juliano of Washington, D.C.; grandson, Martin Bolls and his wife, Stefanie; great-grandsons, Silas and Bodhi Bolls of Jarrettsville, Md.; and sister, Sue B. Warner of Huntington Beach, Calif.
At Jim’s request there will be no service. The family would like to express their
appreciation to the nurses at Dockside and to the nurses and staff at Hospice House of Williamsburg for the care they extended to Jim. Contributions can be made to Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
