James Ray Evans Sr. passed away on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Hampton, and was the son of the late Davis Ray and Mary Firth Evans.
He was a welder for more than 52 years and was a member of Saluda Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Evans; and granddaughter, Heavenly Hope.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Evans; children, Jamie, Amanda, Josh, Jennifer, and Tina; brothers, David Lynn Evans and June Firth; sister-in-law, Donna Evans; niece, Cori Thornton; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 6-7 p.m.
The funeral service is planned for Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Windsor Gardens Cemetery.
