Nine-year-old Nadya Crader of Stormont kicked off the Middlesex (Urbanna) Volunteer Fire Department’s (MVFD) annual fund drive Saturday by donating a full jar ($75.63) of money that she earned selling “refreshing and yum-yum” lemonade in August in the parking lot of the Urbanna Market.
“I just wanted to sell lemonade and I wanted to donate it to the fire department because they do what they do for free (volunteer) and save lots of lives,” she said.
Nadya said that her grandfather, Roy Crader Sr. of Stormont, encouraged her to sell the lemonade and her grandmother, Linda, helped Nadya make the lemonade.
