The Middlesex High School (MHS) girls track team finished third as a team at the Region A track meet behind Northampton and Lancaster high schools on Wednesday, May 24, at Charles City High School.
The Lady Chargers were paced by double winner Geriyah Cooke in the shot put (34’) and discus (102’ 6”) earning 20 points for MHS. Chelsey Holmes was the only other first place winner. She won in the long jump (16’ 8”).
Eastern Shore’s Northampton High School won the meet with 101 points and Lancaster High School finished second with 95. Middlesex was third with 62 points…
For those who qualified, the Lady Chargers will compete in the Virginia Class 1 state track meet at James Madison University in Harrisonburg on Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3.
