Crane lowers Church View’s new post office

A new Church View Post Office building was set on its foundation last week and is expected to be open to customers in the coming weeks, said post office officials this week.

Since back in February 2020, when the U.S. postal service removed an old post office trailer being used as the Church View Post Office and replaced it with a “U.S. Post Office on Wheels” postal truck, Middlesex County supervisors have been pressing to have a new post office building located at Church View.

Working with U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, R-1st Dist., in Washington, D.C., Jamaica District supervisor and chairman of the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors Wayne Jessie has been encouraging the continued operation of the small rural post office at Church View. In recent years, the postal service has had a history of closing rural post offices.
