Philippi Christian Church in Deltaville will have its Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner Fundraiser on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, apples, fruit, toppings, syrup and beverages. The suggested price is $12 and you can dine in or take out. Children younger than 12 eat free. The funds raised will benefit the Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department, Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad and auxiliary and local outreach.

To begin LUMC’s Lenten season, LUMC will offer two opportunities for worship on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18. The sanctuary will be open from 7-8 a.m. for meditation and the traditional imposition of ashes, offered by Dr. William A. Will.
A brief worship service will be offered at noon, including ashes, offered by the Rev. Sue Hardman.
Urbanna United Methodist Church (UUMC) invites the community to its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner, which is set for 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17. A brief Ash Wednesday Service will be offered on that Wednesday morning in the UUMC sanctuary to accommodate those attending the pancake supper and communion.
The supper, which is free, is sponsored by the UUMC Men’s group and any donations given will go towards the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
Supper offerings include pancakes with or without chocolate chips, bacon, fried apples and beverage in the UUMC Fellowship Hall.

The Knights of Columbus, Council 11210, will host its 16th Italian Feast on Saturday, Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day, at Catholic Church of the Visitation at 8462 General Puller Highway (Route 33) in Topping.
Seating is at 5 p.m. The dinner will include homemade meatballs, made with pork, beef and veal, Italian sweet sausages, homemade sauce and penne pasta. Fresh Italian bread, salad and hand-grated Reggiano parmesan cheese will top off the food menu. Homemade desserts will complete the feast.
Red and white wine, coffee and tea will complement the meal.
Reservations are required and tickets are priced at $40 per adult, $5 for children younger than 12, and children younger than 5 years old are free. Takeouts will be available by pre-order.

The Connect Women’s Ministry of Tappahannock will host the “Be Ready… Living in Expectation of Christ’s Return” Women’s Conference on Saturday, March 21, at Essex High School (833 High School Circle, Tappahannock).
This one-day conference will bring together women from across the region for a day of praise, worship, fellowship, and biblical teaching, centered on the importance of living with spiritual readiness and purpose.
Connect Women’s Ministry will welcome back Pastor Rosalinda Rivera, a gifted Bible teacher and speaker known for her practical and encouraging messages rooted in God’s Word. The conference will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with doors opening at 8:15 a.m. Tickets are available now. The cost is $40, which includes a boxed lunch provided by Excellent EATs of Warsaw.
