The spirit of Christmas was revealed Dec. 12 at the fourth annual live Nativity display at Christ Church Parish (Episcopal) in Christchurch. It featured no tinsel and no wrapping paper. The only gifts were the ones brought by the Magi to the Baby Jesus.
The sounds were Christmas carols being sung by the bonfire, the animals in the manger and the words of the Magi explaining their journey and gifts.
Many thanks to River Bend Farm for bringing its magnificent Friesian/Lacaune sheep. Those who attended enjoyed feeding the sheep and learning about their breed.
And, Earl, the donkey, continues to delight children and adults alike. We are grateful to Marny and Bill Richardson for bringing Earl, as always.
Cookies, candy canes and hot cider were enjoyed on this crisp winter night.
