The Christchurch School (CCS) trap shooting team had a terrific first year.

The team recently competed in the Virginia State High School Clay Target League Tournament in Manassas. The team placed second in the state, reported CCS Communications Assistant Jennifer Homer.

Ninth grader Brock Miller, the son of Craig Miller and Lisa Brock of Alexandria, placed third for junior varsity.

Junior Christopher Rhoads, the son of Meade and Janie Rhoads of Aylett, placed second for the spring 2025 season and received the All Star award.

More than 50 athletes competed in the tournament. The Christchurch team competes in both fall and spring. Their advisor is director of admission Billy Burlee.
