The Deltaville Deltas hit six home runs last weekend, powering their way to a pair of league victories over the Richmond Trash Pandas and the Dinwiddie Brewjays.
With the wins, Deltaville moves to sole possession of second place, with a 6-1 record in league play, and a 7-1 overall record.
The harshest part of the Deltas schedule starts today, Thursday, July 3, as the Deltas play six games in 11 days. The stretch starts on July 3 with the continuation of a road game against the Tappahannock Tides at Essex High School. The game was previously begun in June, but was postponed in the fourth inning due to storms with the score tied 0-0.
On Saturday, the Deltas welcome back the Chesapeake Sharks for their annual Independence Day weekend matchup. First pitch will be at 6 p.m., with postgame fireworks starting after the game, roughly at 9:15 p.m.
On Tuesday, July 8, the Deltas will play an away game against the Richmond Dirt Devils.
